Biaha is an advanced dive site off Gili Biaha near Candidasa in East Bali, where a dramatic underwater canyon system descends to 30 meters through swirling currents and impressive rock formations. The site is renowned for its resident population of whitetip reef sharks that rest in the canyon's sandy bottom, often stacked in groups of three or more. The canyon walls are decorated with large gorgonian fans and black coral trees, while the surge and current at the canyon entrance create an exhilarating swim-through experience. Beyond the canyon, the reef opens to a sloping wall where giant frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, and Bali's famous blue-ringed octopus can be found by sharp-eyed guides. The strong currents and surge conditions make Biaha one of East Bali's most challenging dives, but the combination of shark encounters, dramatic topography, and excellent macro life makes it a must-dive for experienced divers exploring beyond Bali's mainstream sites.
