Gili Mimpang is a cluster of three small rocky islets off Candidasa in eastern Bali, renowned for thrilling drift dives and regular shark sightings. Strong currents sweep nutrients past the submerged pinnacles, attracting white-tip and black-tip reef sharks, ocean sunfish (mola mola) during the cool season from July to October, and large schools of trevally and barracuda. The rocky walls are blanketed in soft corals and sea fans, while blue-spotted stingrays rest on the sandy patches between formations. Thermoclines can drop temperatures sharply, so exposure protection is recommended. Best suited for divers comfortable with current, Gili Mimpang delivers big-animal encounters just a short boat ride from the tranquil shores of Candidasa.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
