Gili Biaha is one of eastern Bali's most thrilling dive sites, a small rocky island off Candidasa known for its cave system and shark encounters. The site's main feature is a large underwater cave at around 20 meters depth where white-tip reef sharks rest during the day—divers can observe multiple sharks lying on the sandy cave floor, creating an unforgettable scene. Outside the cave, the rocky reef descends to 40 meters with strong currents that attract schools of trevally, barracuda, and surgeonfish. Mola mola visit during the cool season, and bamboo sharks are occasionally found in the shallower crevices. The cave entrance requires careful navigation to avoid disturbing the sharks, and the strong currents and potential surge make this a strictly advanced dive. Gili Biaha rewards experienced divers with some of Bali's most exciting underwater encounters in a dramatic volcanic setting.
