Gili Selang is a remote and thrilling dive site off the easternmost tip of Bali, where powerful oceanic currents create an underwater environment rich in large pelagic species. The submerged rocky island features steep walls and boulders covered in healthy hard and soft corals, with the deep blue water beyond promising encounters with hammerhead sharks, thresher sharks, mola mola during the cool season, and large schools of trevally and barracuda. The currents can be extremely strong and unpredictable, with sudden downcurrents possible, making this site strictly for experienced divers with excellent buoyancy control. When conditions cooperate, Gili Selang delivers some of the most exciting big-fish diving in all of Bali, a hidden gem that few divers have the privilege of experiencing.
