Lipah Bay is a charming shore dive near Amed on Bali's northeast coast, offering a diverse underwater experience in a sheltered bay below the traditional fishing village. The site features a black sand slope with patches of coral garden descending to about 30 meters, combining muck diving opportunities with healthy reef sections. The sandy areas harbor garden eels, blue-spotted stingrays, and gobies with their shrimp partners, while the coral patches host schools of reef fish, cuttlefish, and moray eels. The site is adjacent to the Japanese Shipwreck, making it easy to visit both in a single dive. Calm conditions and easy shore entry from the beach make Lipah Bay suitable for intermediate divers and a popular choice for night diving when the sand reveals nocturnal critters. The backdrop of colorful jukung outrigger boats and Mount Agung creates a quintessentially Balinese diving atmosphere.
