Amed is a laid-back diving area on Bali's northeast coast offering diverse underwater experiences from easy shore dives to dramatic drop-offs. The volcanic black sand creates a striking contrast with the colorful coral gardens that line the coast, and the calm waters provide excellent conditions year-round. The area encompasses multiple sites including the Japanese Shipwreck—a small patrol boat in shallow water perfect for beginners—and a vibrant wall dive with sea fans, soft corals, and barrel sponges. Macro life abounds with leaf scorpionfish, ribbon eels, and many nudibranch species, while garden eels sway in sandy patches. The traditional fishing village atmosphere and spectacular sunrise views of Mount Agung above the waterline add to the unique charm of diving in Amed.
