Pyramids is an advanced dive site near Amed on Bali's northeast coast, named for the pyramid-shaped coral formations that create a distinctive underwater landscape on the volcanic slope. The site features a black sand slope with large coral bommies and pinnacle formations descending from 10 to about 40 meters, offering both macro and wide-angle photography opportunities. The coral structures attract schools of sweetlips, batfish, and fusiliers, while leaf scorpionfish, frogfish, and nudibranchs hide among the encrusted surfaces. The deeper sections may reveal white-tip reef sharks resting on sandy ledges and large groupers patrolling the formations. Moderate to strong currents can develop, and the deeper maximum depth makes proper air management essential. Pyramids is a boat dive from Amed that provides a different experience from the shore-accessible sites, combining interesting topography with rich marine life on one of Bali's most scenic underwater slopes.
