Deep Reef is an advanced dive site near Menjangan Island in West Bali National Park, offering exploration of the deeper reef zones that extend beyond the famous walls. Starting where the wall base meets the sandy slope around 30 meters, the dive continues along a gentle decline to 40 meters and beyond, where large gorgonian fans, black coral trees, and barrel sponges create an impressive deep-water garden. The deeper sections attract species less commonly seen on the shallower walls, including Napoleon wrasse, large groupers, and occasional white-tip reef sharks resting on sandy ledges. The surrounding blue water can produce sightings of eagle rays and pelagic fish. Clear visibility typical of Menjangan allows appreciation of the deep reef architecture. The site requires advanced certification and good air management, rewarding experienced divers with a different perspective on Menjangan's rich underwater ecosystem.
