Macro Jetty is a delightful muck diving site near Pemuteran in West Bali, where the pilings and sandy substrate beneath a local jetty create a rich habitat for an impressive variety of small critters. The site sits in shallow water between 3 and 12 meters with no current, allowing for extended dives focused entirely on finding and photographing macro subjects. Frogfish, seahorses, nudibranchs, and ghost pipefish are regularly spotted among the jetty pylons, while the surrounding sand and rubble host blue-ringed octopus, mantis shrimp, and various species of shrimp gobies. The jetty structure itself attracts schooling glassfish and cardinalfish, creating a lively backdrop for macro shots. Night diving is particularly rewarding, with the sand revealing flamboyant cuttlefish, bobtail squid, and hunting crustaceans. Easy access and calm conditions make Macro Jetty perfect for all levels, especially underwater photographers seeking critter encounters in a relaxed setting.
