Semaya is a spectacular dive site on the southeast coast of Nusa Penida, offering dramatic wall diving in an area known for encounters with large pelagic species. The site features a steep drop-off plunging from a coral reef at 8 meters to well beyond 40 meters, with the wall face decorated in black corals, gorgonian fans, and colorful sponges. Cold upwellings create the conditions favored by mola mola during the cool season, while manta rays visit during the warmer months. White-tip reef sharks rest on ledges, and schools of trevally and barracuda patrol the deeper sections. The shallow reef provides a vibrant safety stop with healthy hard corals and abundant reef fish. Strong currents and significant thermoclines make Semaya challenging, but the combination of wall diving, pelagic encounters, and pristine reef conditions makes it one of Nusa Penida's most rewarding advanced dives.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
