Wave Corner

Wave Corner is an advanced dive site in the Secret Gilis of Southwest Lombok, positioned at the exposed point where currents converge around a rocky headland descending to 30 meters. This convergence zone creates upwellings that bring nutrient-rich deep water to the surface, fueling exceptional coral growth and attracting pelagic predators. Schools of chevron barracuda, bigeye trevally, and Spanish mackerel cruise the current line, while reef sharks work the edges of the drop-off. The reef structure is shaped by the powerful hydrodynamics—hardy massive corals dominate the exposed faces, while sheltered overhangs harbor delicate fan corals and tubastrea cup corals. Timing the dive with favorable current conditions is essential, as the site can range from gently flowing to extremely challenging within a single tidal cycle.
