The Gully is an advanced dive site on the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry, Ireland, where a dramatic underwater ravine cuts through the rocky reef between 8 and 20 meters depth. The gully's high walls create sheltered micro-environments where anemone gardens flourish in remarkable density, with jewel anemones, dahlia anemones, and elegant anemones carpeting every available surface. Conger eels inhabit the gully's deeper recesses, while lobsters and squat lobsters occupy crevices along the walls. The channel effect concentrates nutrients and fish life, attracting schools of pollack and occasional visiting tope sharks. The advanced rating reflects the potential for strong currents funneling through the gully and the need for good buoyancy control in the narrow sections. The Gully is one of the Dingle Peninsula's most atmospheric dives, where the combination of dramatic topography and concentrated marine life creates an underwater experience unique to Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.
