The Point is a beginner-friendly dive site on the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry, Ireland, offering a scenic dive between 18 and 22 meters along a rocky headland jutting into the Atlantic. The site features boulder-strewn slopes covered in a spectacular array of temperate invertebrate life—dahlia anemones in stunning reds and whites, plumose anemones waving in the current, and dense colonies of dead man's fingers soft coral. The deeper sections reveal patches of cup corals and rare ross coral that indicate the healthy water quality of these Kerry waters. Pollack and wrasse are the dominant fish species, while spider crabs congregate in impressive numbers during their seasonal moulting gatherings. Seals from the nearby colony are frequent visitors, often appearing unexpectedly to investigate curious divers. The Point offers an accessible yet deeply rewarding dive that showcases the vibrant colors and fascinating marine life of Ireland's temperate underwater world.
