Blue Cave Bay is an intermediate dive site near Taormina on Sicily's Ionian coast, featuring a stunning underwater cave system that opens into a sheltered bay. The main cave entrance at around 12 meters leads into a spacious chamber where trapped air creates a silvery ceiling, and scattered light from the entrance paints the walls in ethereal blue tones. The cave's interior walls are encrusted with orange cup corals and red sponges, while shrimp and small crustaceans inhabit the darker recesses. Outside the cave, the bay's rocky seabed descends to 25 meters over volcanic formations hosting groupers, barracuda, and seasonal tuna. The combination of cave exploration and open-water diving makes this a versatile site along Sicily's most scenic coastline.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
