Nave is an advanced dive off the Pontine Islands near Ventotene, named for a massive rock formation that resembles a ship's hull from certain angles. The underwater extension of this formation creates dramatic walls and swim-throughs descending to significant depth. Dense gorgonian forests, red coral, and bright sponge gardens adorn the volcanic walls, while large grouper, amberjack, and schools of barracuda inhabit the blue water. The Pontine marine reserve's pristine conditions and the site's impressive scale make Nave one of the most memorable advanced dives in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
