Secca della Rana is a beginner-friendly seamount dive near Ventotene, where a submerged rocky pinnacle rises close to the surface in the Pontine Islands' clear Tyrrhenian waters. The reef top is a riot of color — bright sponges, yellow anemones, and small gorgonians carpet the volcanic rock while schools of chromis and damselfish create shimmering clouds above. The shallow depth allows extended bottom times for maximum enjoyment. With the Pontine marine reserve's healthy ecosystems and visibility that regularly exceeds 25 meters, Secca della Rana offers some of the most accessible yet spectacular diving in central Italy.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
