Punta Tegge is an intermediate dive site on the western shore of La Maddalena Island in Sardinia's famous archipelago. The site features a granite coastline that continues underwater as a series of sculpted boulders and rock formations descending to 25 meters. The granite surfaces are covered with colorful encrusting sponges, sea fans, and colonies of false coral, while the gaps between boulders create sheltered passages frequented by groupers, octopuses, and moray eels. The sandy patches between rocks host garden eels and flatfish. La Maddalena's exceptional water clarity — often exceeding 30 meters visibility — makes Punta Tegge particularly photogenic, with the warm granite tones contrasting beautifully against the crystalline turquoise water. The site is sheltered from prevailing winds, offering reliable diving conditions.
