Punta Sardegna

Punta Sardegna is a beginner-friendly dive site near Palau on Sardinia's northeast coast, overlooking the Maddalena Archipelago. The site features a gentle granite slope that eases into the sea, creating a comfortable entry and gradual descent over boulders smoothed by millennia of wave action. The shallow reef is rich with Posidonia meadows that shelter an abundance of juvenile fish, seahorses, and colorful wrasses. Among the granite formations, octopuses hunt crab prey while moray eels peek from their dens. The site's main appeal for newer divers is the extraordinary visibility typical of this stretch of coast, combined with the sheltered conditions provided by the surrounding islands. On clear days, the underwater landscape reveals the distinctive pink and grey granite that makes this archipelago world-renowned.
