The C-130 Hercules Plane Wreck is one of Aqaba's most unique and impressive dive sites, featuring a complete military transport aircraft deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef. The massive C-130 sits upright on the sandy seabed at just 15 meters depth, its wingspan spanning an incredible 40 meters. The fuselage and wings are being colonized by corals and marine organisms, while the cavernous cargo bay has become a gathering place for schools of glassfish and curious batfish. Lionfish patrol the landing gear and engine nacelles, and blue-spotted stingrays rest beneath the wings' shadow. The aircraft's shallow resting depth makes it accessible to divers of various experience levels, though the advanced rating reflects the overhead environment when entering the cargo bay. Swimming around this aviation giant on the seafloor is a surreal and unforgettable experience.
