Cave is an advanced dive site in Aqaba, Jordan, featuring a small but fascinating underwater cavern carved into the reef wall at just 5 meters depth. Despite the shallow depth, the advanced rating reflects the overhead environment and confined space that require proper briefing and skills. The cave entrance opens into a chamber where the ceiling traps an air pocket, allowing divers to surface inside and marvel at the geological formations. The walls are encrusted with colorful sponges and cup corals, while cardinalfish and sweepers inhabit the dim interior. Outside the cave, the surrounding reef offers excellent coral gardens with the typical Aqaba marine life — anthias, butterflyfish, and the ever-present lionfish. This site provides a taste of cave diving in a controlled environment, making it popular for divers looking to experience overhead environments for the first time.
