Kinondo is a beginner-friendly dive site off the Diani coast in Kenya, named after the nearby Kinondo area known for its sacred Kaya forest. The underwater landscape features a well-developed reef system with excellent coral diversity, including massive Porites colonies, delicate whip corals, and colorful soft coral accents. The reef provides habitat for a rich fish community: schools of snappers and goatfish patrol the reef edge, while tiny gobies and blennies occupy the coral surfaces. Seahorses are an occasional highlight, found clinging to gorgonian fans in the calmer sections. The site is particularly enjoyable during the October-March season when the northeast monsoon brings the clearest water conditions and warmest temperatures. Dolphins are sometimes spotted on the boat ride out to the site, adding to the East African ocean experience. Kinondo's biodiversity and easy diving conditions make it a Diani favorite.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
