Atlantis is a beginner-friendly dive site near Koh Rong Samloem, Cambodia, named for the mythical lost city evoked by the site's rock formations that rise from the sandy bottom like ancient ruins at 16 meters maximum depth. Large boulders and flat rock slabs create a landscape that sparks the imagination, with passages between the formations serving as swim-throughs. The rocks are encrusted with hard corals, sponges, and colorful tunicates, while the sheltered spaces between them host sweepers, cardinalfish, and juvenile barracuda. Seahorses are an occasional highlight, found among the soft coral growth on the rocks' surfaces. The sandy areas around the formations attract garden eels and blue-spotted stingrays. Atlantis combines easy diving conditions with an atmospheric underwater topography that makes it one of the most memorable beginner sites in Cambodia's Koh Rong archipelago.
