Bush Island in Nova Scotia is an advanced dive site off the province's South Shore, offering dramatic underwater granite formations in exposed Atlantic conditions. The island's underwater walls drop steeply into cold, current-swept waters where visibility can be exceptional on good days. Dense kelp forests cling to the upper rocks while the deeper walls are covered with plumose anemones and northern sea stars. Large lobsters and the occasional wolffish inhabit the deeper crevices. Grey seals are regular visitors, often approaching divers with curiosity. The exposed location demands careful attention to weather and sea conditions.
