La Vacca Sud is the southern face of the Île de la Vacca in the Strait of Bonifacio, offering a slightly more sheltered alternative to its northern counterpart. Descending to 25 meters, this intermediate dive features impressive granite formations shaped by millennia of currents and weather into arches, tunnels, and dramatic overhangs. The site benefits from the same protected reserve status and rich marine biodiversity as La Vacca Nord, with resident groupers, moray eels, and colorful nudibranchs among the highlights. Schools of saddled seabream and two-banded bream patrol the mid-water. The southern exposure generally provides calmer conditions, making it more accessible when northerly winds affect the strait.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
