Batu Mandi is an advanced dive site off Bangka Island in North Sulawesi, featuring a dramatic underwater seamount where currents converge to create rich feeding grounds. The pinnacle rises from depths beyond 40 meters and is blanketed in spectacular soft coral growth—massive sea fans, dense dendronephthya soft corals, and whip corals sway in the current. The site is known for pelagic encounters: eagle rays, reef sharks, and large Napoleon wrasse are regular visitors, while schools of fusiliers and surgeonfish create living curtains around the rock. Macro life is equally impressive, with pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, and porcelain crabs hiding among the coral. Currents can be challenging, but experienced divers will find Batu Mandi among the most rewarding dives in the Bangka archipelago.
