Sental is a current-swept dive site off the eastern coast of Nusa Penida, known for its rugged underwater terrain and encounters with large pelagic species. The site features rocky ridges and boulders descending steeply into deep water, with healthy hard coral growth on the shallower ledges and soft corals decorating the walls. Strong currents bring nutrient-rich water that attracts mola mola (ocean sunfish) during the cool season from July to October, along with reef sharks, eagle rays, and large schools of trevally. The topography creates sheltered pockets where divers can observe the action while staying protected from the flow. Due to challenging current conditions and exposure to open ocean swells, Sental is recommended for advanced divers with drift diving experience seeking thrilling encounters off Nusa Penida.
