Cazar Reef is a beginner-friendly dive site in northern Aqaba, Jordan, offering one of the Red Sea's most accessible and colorful reef experiences. The site features a shallow fringing reef with dense coral coverage extending from shore, where hard and soft corals create a vibrant tapestry of color and texture. Brain corals, fire corals, and massive Porites formations provide the reef's framework, while delicate dendronephthya soft corals add splashes of purple and pink. The fish life is prolific: damselfish territories cover every coral head, anthias swarm in golden clouds, and juvenile fish of dozens of species shelter among the coral branches. Octopuses are regularly spotted, and curious cuttlefish approach divers closely. The shallow maximum depth and gentle conditions make Cazar Reef ideal for training dives and underwater photography, with enough biodiversity to keep experienced divers fascinated as well.
