First Bay is a beginner-friendly dive site in Aqaba, Jordan, and often the literal first dive site visitors encounter along the Red Sea coast heading south from the city. The bay's sheltered waters and gentle sandy entry provide ideal conditions for new divers and training sessions. The reef starts shallow, with scattered coral formations growing on a sandy slope that gradually deepens. Hard corals including massive Porites and branching Acropora provide the structure for a diverse fish community: chromis clouds, curious wrasses, and pairs of butterflyfish are constant companions. The sandy areas between coral patches host gobies with their shrimp partners in fascinating symbiotic relationships, and juvenile fish of many species seek shelter in the coral branches. First Bay's protected conditions and easy logistics make it Aqaba's go-to site for discover scuba experiences, yet it offers enough variety to engage returning divers.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
