The Underwater Military Museum is one of Aqaba's most innovative dive sites, created in 2019 by sinking decommissioned military vehicles and equipment to form an underwater art installation and artificial reef. Located at depths between 15 and 30 meters, the museum features tanks, armored personnel carriers, a military ambulance, a combat helicopter, and anti-aircraft guns arranged in tactical formations on the sandy seabed. Each piece of military hardware is being progressively colonized by corals and marine life, with soft corals already draping the turrets and fish claiming the interiors. The site serves dual purposes: creating new habitat for marine organisms while offering divers a surreal, thought-provoking experience swimming among the instruments of war being peacefully reclaimed by nature. The advanced rating reflects the depth range and occasional currents at this exposed site.
