Power Station is an advanced dive site in northern Aqaba, Jordan, located near the city's power plant where warm water discharge creates unique conditions. The site drops steeply to 50 meters, making it one of Aqaba's deepest recreational dives. The warm outflow attracts an unusual concentration of marine life not typically found this far north in the Red Sea. Large pelagic fish including tuna, jacks, and barracuda patrol the deeper waters, while the reef wall is adorned with impressive gorgonian fans and soft coral growth. The nutrient-rich water supports dense fish populations at all depth levels. Eagle rays and whale sharks have been spotted here seasonally. The site's depth and currents demand advanced certification and careful planning, but the potential for big-animal encounters and the unique ecological conditions make Power Station one of Aqaba's most exciting dives for experienced divers.
