Kisima Mungu is an intermediate dive site off the Diani coast in Kenya, whose Swahili name translates to 'God's Well' — a reference to a freshwater spring that emerges from the seabed at this location, creating a unique underwater phenomenon. The freshwater upwelling creates a visible halocline effect where fresh and salt water mix, producing shimmering visual distortions that fascinate visiting divers. The spring's nutrients support an unusually rich local ecosystem, with dense coral growth and abundant fish life surrounding the upwelling point at 24 meters depth. The reef features excellent hard coral diversity with large brain corals, table formations, and branching species. The freshwater influence attracts species not typically found on the surrounding reef, making Kisima Mungu a site of ecological interest as well as a memorable diving experience. This natural wonder adds a unique dimension to Diani's diverse diving portfolio.
